Q. What is the history of the Event?
A. The inaugural Challenge Bathurst was held in 2016 however the first ever motor racing meeting was held in Bathurst over the Easter weekend in 1938. 

Q. What types of cars will be participating at the Event?
A. The event is focused on owner drivers of Motorsport Australia log book cars or road registered performance cars. For more info on whether your car qualifies for entry, email the Event Administrator administrator@challengebathurst.com

Q. Is there are racing?
A. No as the Event comprises two days of supersprint (a timed competition to record the fastest lap with no racing per se) and two days of regularity (minimum lap time of 2:36 min with aim of driving as close to the drivers nominated time each lap)

Q. Is the Event televised or streamed?
A. No, however live timing of all sessions is available on the Event’s website.

Q. Are there Big Screens?
A. No

Q. Can spectators attend?
A. Currently yes however subject to any COVID-19 restrictions that may be enacted

Q. What time do gates open and close?
A. Gates open at 7.00am and close 6.00pm daily

Q. Can I drive my own car up to the top of the Mount to watch?
A. No the gates to the top of the Mountain for areas such as McPhillamy Park will not be open for security reasons.

Q. What parking is available?
A. Public parking is available in Harris Park (large hardstand adjacent to pit straight).

Q. Can I bring my dog?
A. No, animals of any type are prohibited with exception to assistance animals

Q. What catering options are available?
A. Vendors will be operating from the Paddock (behind the garages)

Q. Will alcohol be sold at the Event?
A. No alcohol will be sold or is permitted for consumption in the garage precinct.

Q. Will official event merchandise and programs be available for sale?
A. No

Q. Is camping offered at this Event?
A. Yes, in the Paddock Campground – see dedicated page on the website

Q. Are hospitality suite options available?
A. No

Q. Is there a ‘Will Call’ Office
A. Yes, referred to as the ‘Accreditation Office’ and located at Gate 2 inside the Circuit. The hours of operation are:
Wednesday pre-Event: 9.00am – 5.00pm
Thursday, Friday & Saturday: 6.00am – 5.00pm

Q. Is there an ATM at the Circuit?
A. No, the nearest is located in Bathurst township, approximately 3 km away

Q. Where is Bathurst?
A. Bathurst is approximately 3 hours by car from the Sydney CBD, 4.5 hours by train or less than an hour by plane – visit www.rex.com.au for flights.

Q. What is the weather normally like?
A. Bathurst in November has an average low temperature of 14 degrees Celsius and an average high temperature of 22 degrees Celsius.
